Chinese Steamed BBQ Pork Buns 'Char Siu Bao' 叉燒包

Delicious on any occasion, even more when homemade

These Chinese steamed BBQ pork buns are very popular in China, they are part of the Dim Sum, these small dishes that we can enjoy as starters or at any time with a good tea. They should not be confused with the other popular Chinese buns with ground pork, the Bao-Zi Buns. Their ingredients and tastes are very different.

It is quite possible to make these buns at home. Children will enjoy participating in their making. When you enclose the stuffing in the dough, you can leave a hole or not. You can make the folds in your own way.

After cooking, eat them warm. If you have some left over, keep them in the freezer and heat up in a steamer.
