A fantastic 'Char-Siu' lacquered chicken

Ingredients for 4 people

• 600g chicken breast or thighs
• ½ tsp salt
• ¼ tsp ground pepper
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp 5 spice powder
• 1 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp honey
• ½ tbsp grated ginger
• ⅛ tsp red food coloring powder
• 1 tbsp Shaoxing cooking wine
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• 2 tbsp light soy sauce
• 1 tsp dark soy sauce
• And 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce

Icing

• 1 tbsp honey
• 1 tsp sesame oil
